Frederik Imbo studied theatre at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and has acted in lots of television series. He founded Imboorling and now has over 15 years experience in stimulating and supporting people. With the aim of improving their communication skills Frederik gives presentations, workshops, training courses and personal coaching sessions to anyone prepared to make their two ears available.

Jessica Gimeno lives with bipolar disorder and wants to expand the discourse around mental health. Its not enough to just receive a diagnosis, she says, people have to learn to live with depression and other mental health issues. In her talk, she shares the techniques shes learned to help her get stuff done while depressed.
Jessica is a warrior who fights five illnesses daily: bipolar II, polycystic ovarian syndrome, asthma, psoriasis, and the neuromuscular autoimmune disease Myasthenia Gravis (MG). Jessica Gimeno was valedictorian of her class, winning more than 20 speech competitions. Motivated by a friend’s suicide, she spoke to hundreds of students about mental health stigma and helped thirty students get psychiatric help. In her free time, Jessica is a diehard New Kids on the Block fan who enjoys pilates, painting, and playing with her nieces and nephews.

In this illuminating talk, high school mathematics teacher and YouTube star Eddie Woo shares his passion for mathematics, declaring that «mathematics is a sense, just like sight and touch» and one we can all embrace. Using surprising examples of geometry, he encourages everyone to seek out the patterns around us, for «a whole new way to see the world». A public high school teacher for more than 10 years, Eddie Woo gained international attention when he posted videos of his classroom lessons online, to assist an ill student. His YouTube channel, WooTube, has more than 200,000 subscribers and over 13 million views.
Eddie believe that mathematics can be embraced and even enjoyed by absolutely everybody. He was named Australias Local Hero and was a Top 10 Finalist in the Global Teacher Prize for his love of teaching mathematics. Professor Daniel Ashlock has a doctorate in pure mathematics from Caltech. He has been a math professor for 23 years and taught twelve different types first year math courses at four institutions for majors in math, hard sciences, general education, biology, and business. He has developed five different first year courses. He currently holds a chair in bioinformatics with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics where he is a Full Professor of Mathematics. He has prizes for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as for research. He has over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications in mathematics, computer science, theoretical biology, computational intelligence, artificial intelligence, game theory, and automatic content generation for games. He is a senior member of the IEEE and serves as an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, the IEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence in Games, and Biosystems.

Айгерим Булекбаева, самая юная участница конференции TEDxAstana, — ученица Назарбаев Интеллектуальной Школы в Актобе. В Назарбаев Интеллектуальных Школах есть клуб TEDx, Айгерим — одна из его участниц. Она играет на скрипке, а через пару минут мы узнаем, что ее мама очень хотела, чтобы дочь стала скрипачкой. Но сама Айгерим не сразу поняла, чего она хочет. Однако ее размышления привели к большим переменам, сейчас она изучает математику и физику в Назарбаев Интеллектуальной Школе. Айгерим считает, что только самостоятельно принятые решения действительно приносят радость.
