How to Get Up in the Morning | Zibby Lindholm | TEDxYorkSchool

Zibby Lindholm has always loved to share her opinions with the world. After years of others wondering how to build similar confidence, Zibby decided to share her experiences and her solutions. She provides a path that people may take to develop their thread of confidence. Throughout her talk, she seeks to prove that confidence is not an innate quality, using the talk itself as an example. When not obsessing over the latest Marvel or Star Wars movie trailer, Zib can be found skipping around campus to visit with all of her classmates. On the other hand, her natural habitat is the water and one can find her kicking names and taking ass in the waves. Or playing *drowning* in a game of waterpolo. She absolutely loves sleeping in and diving into new books from the comfort of her king-size fleece blanket. Always up for a vibrant discussion about science or Harry Potter, she will happily seek out the strangest of adventures. Better Medicine Through Machine Learning | Suchi Saria | TEDxBoston

Faster medical treatment saves lives. Machine Learning is already saving lives, by scouring a multitude of patients’ data and comparing them to one patient’s health data to detect symptoms 12 to 24 hours sooner than a doctor could. «In many pressing medical problems, the answers to knowing whom to treat, when to treat, and what to treat with, might already be in your data» says Suchi Saria. Learn how TREWS (Targeted Real-time Early Warning Score) is leading the way to save lives.

Suchi Saria is a professor of computer science and health policy, and director of the Machine Learning and Health Lab at Johns Hopkins University. Her research is focused on designing data solutions for providing individualized care.
