Diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in early 2012 Catherine battled the illness throughout her ‘A’ levels and the first year of her degree which resulted in her taking two gap years to get specialist treatment as an inpatient Eating Disorders Unit. Catherine reveals a deeply honest account into her road to recovery which will hopefully inspire others.
Catherine is a chemistry student at the University of Warwick, a photography enthusiast and a self-confessed perfectionist. While growing up in Leicestershire, Catherine was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in early 2012 and battled the illness throughout her ‘A’ levels and the first year of her degree. This resulted in her taking two gap years to get specialist treatment as an inpatient at an Eating Disorders Unit.
Catherine has just completed her second year at university, and has not relapsed. She is busy enjoying student life and everything it entails, before entering the world of work when she graduates next year.

The Ugly Indian is an anonymous collective that does not talk to media, wants no publicity and works with the motto — Only Work No Talk. However, they made an exception for TEDxBangalore so that they could open up the question of why we as Indians are okay with filthy public spaces? The tragedy of the commons — can we change it to the victory of the commons?
Theres a silent revolution brewing in India, and its called The Ugly Indian. It is anonymous, faceless and leaderless, and has seen thousands of citizens coming out to fix local civic problems following a simple motto: Kaam Chalu Mooh Bandh. Only Work No Talk. What started off as a series of social experiments in Bangalore in 2011, to see what it takes to change everyday ugly Indian behaviour in public spaces (littering, spitting paan, public urination and more), has now transformed into a nation-wide movement that is spreading virally – both on social media, and on the ground. The centrepiece of the TUI approach is the spotfix where ugly spots are fixed by citizens. There is no activism, no sloganeering, no lecturing, no finger-pointing and no ideological debates – just a sincere attempt to solve problems by focusing on a spot — using ones own time, hands and money.

Начатая в Париже под впечатлением от неевропейского вида толпы на Елисейских Полях, книга была опубликована в 2005 году, вызвала огромный общественный резонанс, была переведена на несколько европейских языков и удостоена премии Басткон. Сегодня, спустя одиннадцать лет с момента первой публикации, в свете трагических событий происходящих практически во всех крупных европейских городах, история, описываемая в романе, к большому сожалению, становится все более и более реалистичной.
«Колымские рассказы» — это книга, главной темой которой является «лагерная». Автор, который провел почти пол жизни в заключении, пережил очень многое: это и унижения, и побои, и несправедливость. Самый главный вопрос, который его волнует — это уничтожение человека государством. Так и в этой книге: он решает донести своим слушателям о «реальной» Колыме, о лагерях, в которых отбывал срок, о том, что ему пришлось пережить.

Фильм расскажет о том, как события жизни Лермонтова тесно переплетены с сюжетами его произведений, как реальная жизнь поэта незримо переходит в его вымышленный мир.
Mikhail Lermontov (1814-1841) was one of Russia’s greatest poets and writers. His famous novel, “A Hero of Our Time” was one of the most popular Russian books of all time. His works were always timely and relevant, enjoying vast popularity especially among young people. Lermontov’s poetry and prose were translated into many languages and take their rightful place among the classics of world literature. Lermontov died at the age of 27, fighting a duel under strange circumstances. He grew up without parents, had two serious love affairs, was always surrounded by good friends, went through war, but nevertheless remained lonely throughout his whole life. This movie, made to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lermontovs birth, gives an insightful look at how his personal life intertwined with the plots of his works. The poet’s reality is gradually transferred into the world of his own imagination, while the characters and events he describes provide answers to biographical mysteries of Lermontov’s fate.
