Every year, billions of women continue a never-ending quest to lose weight and achieve the “perfect” physique. But this quest is a trap—one that keeps women sick, stressed, distracted, and depleted. To create a generation of healthy, strong women who are focused not on their body size but on solving real world problems, we must dismantle the harmful weight loss industry and the body-obsessed “diet culture” that this industry has spawned. Susan Hyatt is a master certified life and business coach who has helped thousands of women to transform their bodies and lives. Susan is the author of two books, Create Your Own Luck and BARE. Her work has been featured in places like O: The Oprah Magazine, Woman’s World, Cosmopolitan, and The Huffington Post. She’s the creator of The BARE Process, a trademarked system for upgrading your mental and physical health, building more energy and confidence, and creating the life that you want. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
